Inspirations for EXP 2 final design

1. Dubai - Palm Island:

The main ideas that were stimulating in my mind during this assignment was "openness" and "interaction with nature". These concepts for me demonstrate the perspectives of the clients interaction and the ways in which to benefit them with their areas of life. The Dubai Palm trees for me symbolise the main areas in which architecture and engineering are using social and environmental metamorphosis to create areas that give society another aspect of living.

2. Slanted roof + axonometric aspects

This building can represent the aspects that I wanted to achieve in respect to Darwin's Laboratory on the top floor looking over the meeting area and nature. I wanted to captivate with the slanted glass roof the notion of modern architectural designs however also wanted to explore that Darwin shouldn't be confined in a glass rectangle box but to represent a different and unique shape as these aspects to be represented the concepts of Charles Darwin.

Final Google Sketch up Model

In relation to these images presented above I believe that it displays a very close resemblance to the final idea and design and found using Google Sketch Up this time unlike for EXP 1 to be much easier and comfortable and this only took me roughly half an hour to accomplish which made me motivated to export it to Crysis Sandbox.

Charles Darwin and Stephen Hawkings Laboratories and Meeting Area

If the misery of the poor the answer will be the ultimate triumph of human reason, for great is our sin; we would know the mind of God.

5 images of Final Design

1.Aerial Shot - during the day

This shot captivates the whole land form and the areas for the laboratories and the meeting area. The meeting area is the furthest island extension with a bench on it for the clients. The aerial view displays all of the footpaths and areas to walk around for the clients.

2. Charles Darwin Lab - view to the meeting area - during the day

The reason I choose this view to to show the Laboratory for Charles Darwin situated on the top floor of the building. The Laboratory as I designed in my Google Sketch Up model is what I like to call "glass-room" to exemplify that Charles is open to view all of elements of natural to cater to his philosophy and theories.

3.Front View - during the day

This view shows the direct visual of the building and the exemplifies the different textures that were used. As presented the texture of the squiggly lines and the diamond shapes are presented and personally i found these to be the better choice from the rest and suited the modern motion that I wanted to pursue. I used my I phone for the top texture the squiggly line one using the SketchBook application and found it to be easy and enjoyable, then i just inverted colours cause I saw the white gives off a more modern and slick affect.

4. Standing on the Meeting point - during the night
*Favourite Image*

This image is my favourite image throughout my time picking which images to put. For me it captivates everything that inspired me and shows the building from the further direction that allows me and the viewer to understand all of the aspects that is designed.

5. Why red lights? - during the night

I received the question "why red lights?" more then once from my friends and family and then when I explained that it is there to guide the person in the game and to allow them to know the entrance of the buildings, starting points and a aesthetics element of course. After explaining this they found it essential and recommended to leave it.
